Bellport woman facing animal cruelty charges after fire

The SPCA says a starving dog and another pup were found Monday in the backyard of Cassandra Bright's home on Pace Avenue.

A Bellport woman is facing animal cruelty charges following  a fire at her home.
The SPCA says a starving dog and another pup were found Monday in the backyard of Cassandra Bright's home on Pace Avenue.
The animals were tied up in the backyard when a fire tore through the residence.
The dogs, which had no food or water, are being cared for at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter.
The remains of two other dogs were also discovered. One was still chained up inside a dog house.
