Car smashes through glass window of Rockville Centre pizzeria

A Nassau County pizzeria was damaged after a car drove into it Wednesday morning.
The Rockville Centre Police Department was notified around 9 a.m. of the collision between a 2003 Toyota sedan and a 2017 Honda.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the Honda, which was being driven by a Freeport resident, had slammed into the front of Saltano's Pizzeria, located at the corner of N. Park Ave. and Merrick Rd.
The vehicle smashed through the large glass window, bending the framing, and scattering pizza boxes, pieces of the wall and bricks all over the floor.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of their cars and were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to police.
Neighboring businesses tell News 12 there are frequent collisions at this intersection, nearly once a month.
The Building Department responded to the scene and determined there was no structural damage to the support pillars that hold up the building, village officials say.
No criminality is suspected.
