Bellport celebrates 158th anniversary as birthplace of ball bearings
They were invented by Bellport resident Oliver Hazard Petty Robinson in 1866.

From now on, it will be known as Ball Bearing Day in Bellport every March 13.
News 12's Carmen Grant was in the village Monday to learn more about the history of the invention.
