2h agoSuffolk County Executive Steve Bellone's war chest is growing amid talk of a potential run for statewide office in 2022.
Bellone's campaign reports it has raised $1.1 million and has more than $1 million in cash on hand.
When asked about whether he had higher aspirations, Bellone responded by saying, "I' m very committed to the job that I'm doing here in Suffolk County right now and I have nothing else to discuss beyond that. We have a lot of work to do here right now and I'm going to focus on that."
Bellone, a Democrat, was first elected as Suffolk County executive in 2011. He is currently in his final term.
