Beer distributor workers strike after rejecting pay cut
Dozens of beer distributor workers may soon be out of a job.
About 130 union workers hit the picket line Monday after months of failed contract negotiations with Clare Rose, the company that distributes Budweiser, Bud Light and some popular Long Island craft beers like Blue Point and Greenport.
Clare Rose workers rejected a 30 percent pay cut and the end of their pensions. The last contract extension for Teamsters Local 182 expired Friday.
The company sent a letter to the union Monday stating that all striking workers will be permanently replaced, effective Tuesday.
News 12 reached out to Clare Rose but did not hear back.
