State police say there was a fatal crash on the Southern State Parkway in Hempstead early Sunday.

The crash happened around 5:34 a.m. east of Exit 19, according to police. The crash involved only a single vehicle.

Police say all eastbound lanes were closed pending an investigation. As of 11:25 a.m. all lanes have been reopened.
