Bayville residents brace for potential flooding from Ida

Forecasters say heavy rain and potential flooding could impact the North Shore the worst when the storm moves in.

The remnants of Hurricane Ida are set to bring heavy rain to Long Island tonight into Thursday, particularly in the northwest of the area.
News 12 Long Island's Logan Crawford was in Bayville where the ground is already saturated from Henri.
Forecasters say heavy rain and potential flooding could impact the North Shore the worst when the remnants from the storm move in.
Residents in Bayville say the area is prone to flooding.
"This has been going on since 1986, they called it a little nor'easter. In 1992, the water came up to that step - we had to get out in a boat. So over the last 30 years, it's been getting worse and worse,” says Gary DiPietro, of Bayville.
PSEG Long Island is preparing for any potential power outages caused by Ida's remnants.
