Business owners in Bay Shore are excited for the start of their busiest time of the year.
Matt Connors and his wife own The LakeHouse restaurant on Maple Avenue. It's open all year, but Connors says the first Friday before Memorial Day means it is time to get things into full gear.
"We definitely have hired more people, you can see the parking is crazy," Connors said. "There's a lot of stress that come with the volume, but it's all good."
Robin Cronin, of Wantagh, is traveling to Ocean Bay Park for the first time this season.
"It's going to be cold, but it's going to be exciting," Cronin said. "Just really excited to even walk in the dark to get to the house."
