Bald eagle hit on Sunrise Highway in Suffolk euthanized

A driver spotted the injured bird on Thursday morning on Sunrise just east of the William Floyd Parkway.

News 12 has learned a bald eagle hit on Sunrise Highway in Suffolk County had to be euthanized.
A driver spotted the injured bird on Thursday morning on Sunrise just east of the William Floyd Parkway.
A rescue group says the eagle was so badly hurt, it had to be euthanized.
The eagle had 2 fractured wings – one so severe and in an inoperable location it was not a candidate for any possible surgical repair.
