The Town of Babylon honored a 6-year-old boy Monday for saving his family from a raging house fire back in October.
Jamari Connors had just gotten home from playing a football game with his team, the Lindenhurst Bull Dogs, when he realized something was wrong.
He said he smelled smoke, and let his family know the house was on fire.
Because Jamari alerted his family, his mother, sister, grandfather and uncle, as well as the family's four cats, managed to escape the three-alarm fire.
Although the Connors family lost all of their possessions in the fire, they say that they are extremely thankful this Thanksgiving.
"I tell him every day, 'You're a hero, you did something, really did, that a lot of people don't have a chance to do,'" said his mother, Jennifer.
