Preliminary autopsy results released Tuesday reveal there was no medical reason that would have caused the wrong-way crash that killed eight people on the Taconic State Parkway.
Police say Diane Schuler, of West Babylon, drove nearly 2 miles in the wrong direction Sunday before crashing into an SUV. Schuler, her 2-year-old daughter and three nieces were killed. Her 5-year-old son survived and is in critical condition. Three men in the SUV were also killed. Hundreds attended a Floral Park vigil Monday night for the victims.
A wake for Schuler, her nieces and daughter will be held Wednesday at Dalton Funeral Home in Floral Park. Their funeral will be held Thursday.
