3 people hurt in crash on Montauk Highway in Mastic

Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash in Suffolk County late Wednesday night.

The Mastic Fire Department responded to the scene on Montauk Highway in Mastic just after 10:30 p.m.

A 24-year-old Shirley woman was driving Honda sedan northbound on Madison Street and attempting to make a right turn onto Montauk Highway when she collided with an Infiniti sedan, according to police.

Fire officials say a door pop was needed on one of the cars and members used hurst tools to cut it open.

Suffolk police tell News 12 the driver of the Infinity, a 24-year-old man from Mastic Beach, was taken to NYU Langone Hospital - Suffolk in Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda, and with her 20-year-old passenger, went to the same hospital with minor injuries.
