Another noose-related incident has taken place on Hempstead town property, months after the discovery of nooses at other locations caused a stir.
Authorities say a drawing of a noose was scrawled on a locker used by employees at the Town of Hempstead Sanitation Yard. About two dozen employees have access to the shed in which the locker is located, authorities say.
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray says no reports of harassment have been filed at the facility. Police say there are no surveillance cameras in or around the shed. They say they are investigating and say no arrests have been made.
In September, a noose was found hanging at the Hempstead Police Department. Two were found hanging at the Town of Hempstead Highway Department garage and another at the Nassau County Department of Public Works highway maintenance facility in October. Town employees were required to undergo sensitivity training after the discovery of the nooses.
