More than 200 reputed members of the violent street gang MS-13 have been arrested in a nationwide sweep called Operation Raging Bull.
The Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department say the takedown was conducted in several states between Oct. 8 and Nov. 11. They say it was the second phase of a federal effort to target the street gang.
"These charges and arrests announced today represent a victory for the rule of law. They demonstrate law enforcement's sharpened focus on MS-13 and the DOJ's commitment to using every lawful tool at our disposal to disrupt, dismantle, and eradicate MS-13," said Deputy Assistant Attorney General David Rybicki.
President Donald Trump directed federal officials earlier this year to focus more resources on combating dangerous gangs.
