Multiple fire departments responded to a blaze Tuesday night at an East End home that was also the subject of a recent burglary investigation.
The Southampton Town Police Department received the 911 call for an active structure fire around 11 p.m. at 198 West Neck Road in Southampton.
Responding units confirmed the residence was on fire and activated the Southampton Fire Department, North Sea Fire Department, Hampton Bays Fire Department and Bridgehampton Fire Departments.
Once the flames were extinguished, Southampton Town detectives and fire marshals were requested to conduct a follow-up investigation.
As News 12 reported, the house is the same location that was involved in an early morning home invasion burglary on Sept. 17.
During the burglary investigation, officers seized 1,000 pounds of marijuana, which had been packaged for sale and distribution, according to police.
At this time, detectives say it is premature to indicate whether or not the two incidents are related.
The investigation is ongoing.
