Attorney general probes death of woman struck by off-duty Quogue officer

News 12 has been told Margaret Lucey, 89, was crossing Ponquogue Avenue when she was struck by an off-duty officer of Quogue Village Police Department.

The state attorney general’s office is opening a special investigation into the death of a woman that happened on the East End in January.

News 12 has been told Margaret Lucey, 89, was crossing Ponquogue Avenue when she was struck by an off-duty officer of Quogue Village Police Department.

Lucey was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

The attorney general is required by law to investigate any civilian death that involves and officer whether they are on or off duty.
