At least three people were taken to a hospital Saturday after a vehicle overturned in a two-car crash in Bethpage.
The crash happened just outside of News 12 Long Island’s studios at the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Balsam Place.
A witness told News 12 Long Island that an elderly person was driving a black Nissan and was attempting to make a left turn but was startled by a car horn.
That’s when the witness said the Nissan swerved to the right lane and T-boned another car, causing the Nissan to flip on its side.
The witness said they were able to get the elderly person out of the car by cutting the windshield.
"We were scared for the people in the car. Two people in the flipped-over car. So the neighbors came down and we started cutting them out with a saw. We weren't sure what their status was, very panicked,” said Chris Chamberlain, of Long Beach.
As of Saturday night, there was no information on the condition of those involved in the accident.
