Armored truck carrying $2M catches fire on LIE
Police say an armored truck caught fire on the Long Island Expressway, almost sending $2 million up in smoke.
According to police, the armored truck caught fire in the westbound lanes near Exit 69 Thursday night in Manorville.
The armored truck had run over a mattress, which caught fire.
Police on the scene told Newsday that none of the $2 million on board was burned.
