A taxi driver is rethinking his career choice after two customers robbed him and stole his cab in Freeport Tuesday.
Taxi America driver Jose Marmol says he picked up a couple at the Courtesy Hotel in West Hempstead, but was told to pull over short of the original destination. It was then Marmol says a gun was pointed in his face. According to police, the couple made off with about $200 in cash, Marmol?s cell phone and the taxi.
Police found the cab a few blocks later in Roosevelt, but say it is too early in the investigation to comment on the case. Marmol says his two teenage children, his family and his life passed before his eyes when the gun was pointed at him. He says he is unsure if he will continue driving a cab.
