Students at Aquebogue Elementary school in Riverhead got an early holiday surprise. The holiday extravaganza was thanks to the efforts of The Promise of Hope Foundation, Toys for Tots and the family of late NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller.
Each student received a holiday gift of their choice to bring home.
"I used to make bracelets out of this, but I don't have it anymore. This is a whole bunch of things you can make out of my present. What I like about this event is that everyone is able to pick out a gift for either a family member or themselves." explained fourth grader Emma Smith.
Through the partnership, more than 20,000 toys have been distributed to students across Long Island for the holidays.
