Annual telethon pays tribute to murdered student Max Kolb

An annual telethon is being held at Hofstra University on Sunday to honor a student who was murdered nearly two decades ago.
Max Kolb was murdered in 2001 when he was a sophomore at the school.  His dorm mate pleaded guilty to the slaying.
To help cope with his death, his friend Laura Fu decided to do a live telethon in Kolb's honor for her senior project the following year.
She says she never imagined that the telethon would still be going strong 16 years later.
To date, the telethon has raised more than $70,000 for scholarships to help film students pay for and produce their senior projects.
The hour and a half telethon features live music, student showcases and raffles.
The Max Kolb telethon starts at 9 p.m.
