Two men who were part of an animal right protest were arrested by Suffolk police Saturday during a rally outside a home in Huntington Bay.

Private security tackled the duo as they tried to scale the home of Richard Cavallaro, the CEO of a construction firm called Skanska USA. The firm is slated to construct an animal research facility for the University of Washington.

Protesters from the New York Animal Defense League and the No New Animal Lab Campaign say they aimed to get Cavallaro to reconsider the construction job with their rally.

After Suffolk police arrived on the scene, the crowd shouted anti-police chants and called their integrity into question.

Protesters also followed police to the precinct where the two men were being held.

It was not immediately clear what charges the two protesters may face.

A representative for the construction company told News 12 that the construction project is still on course.
