The fate of three dogs that nearly ripped off the ear of a Dix Hills man remained undecided Wednesday.
James Mazzone's three rottweilers were running unleashed Sunday when they brutally attacked Joe Mortensen, 22, and Christopher Green. Mortensen is still in the hospital after undergoing surgery on his face, head and ear, his mother said.
Green, who was bitten on the hand, filed a dangerous dog petition with the Town of Huntington.
"The dogs are vicious," Green said.
A judge ordered the rottweilers temporarily seized and called them a threat. They were confiscated by animal control on Wednesday.
Mazzone, who said these dogs are his life, wants them spared.
"I'll do whatever they want," he said. "Give me as many tickets as you want. I'll leave them in the kennel at all times. Just don't put them down."
A hearing is scheduled for Monday to decide the trio's fate.
