? Despite the grim news coming out of Wall Street lately, Long Islanders can still crack a smile when they pull up to the pump.
Along with the Dow, oil prices are plummeting and dragging gas prices down with them. The America?s Petroleum station in Lindenhurst had regular gas Friday morning for just $3.17 a gallon. That price is below the average on Long Island, which stands at $3.48 a gallon, according to AAA.
The price drop is welcome relief to motorists across the Island. On Thursday, the average stood at $3.52 a gallon. On July 8, it was a whopping $4.35.
