A five-year fugitive has been extradited to Nassau and awaits arraignment after Canadian viewers spotted the man on America?s Most Wanted.
Police say Stanley Osborne attacked his estranged wife in Kings Point in 2001, slashing her with a knife and pistol-whipping her. Police say he then left her for dead and fled the country after his gun misfired. Officials say Osborne was living outside Toronto under the alias Leroy Haughton.
Osborne will be arraigned Thursday and could be sentenced to 25 years if convicted. Suffolk police say Osborne is also wanted for a 2001 rape.
