A Freeport woman who called police on her boyfriend after he allegedly entered her apartment and assaulted her in bed now says she regrets reporting it.
The alleged victim says her ex-boyfriend, Carlos Martinez, choked her and hit her in the face while she was sleeping Tuesday. Martinez, 35, and the victim live in the same apartment building, but she says he entered her apartment without permission.
The victim says she broke up with Martinez and he was angry she discussed the breakup with his family. While she does not deny the assault, she says it was out of character for Martinez.
Martinez is charged with burglary and assault. He is being held on $12,000 cash bail.
