Nassau County Police say a 57-year-old woman was fatally stabbed on Christmas Eve in Massapequa.

Police say the victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was found at an address on Old Sunrise Highway around 7 p.m. Officers arrived at the scene and immediately performed first aid, but despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Investigators spent Thursday searching nearby storm drains and other areas for clues to try to identify a suspect.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.
