Alleged cop killer Darrell Fuller ruled competent for trial in death of officer Arthur Lopez
The man who allegedly killed a Nassau police officer during a traffic stop last October has been ruled competent to stand trial.
Prosecutors say Darrell Fuller shot and killed Nassau Police Officer Arthur Lopez during a traffic stop following a hit-and-run crash on the Cross Island Parkway.
Authorities say Fuller fled the scene, then fatally shot Raymond Facey and stole his car before being arrested in Queens.
Family and friends of Lopez were at the courthouse, where prosecutors displayed photos from the scene and played the fallen officer's last radio transmissions.
Fuller faces first-degree murder charges.
