A Medford man is behind bars after he allegedly attempted to burglarize the St. Mary A.M.E Zion Church early Saturday morning.
A witness was able to spot Richard Sager running away from the church after a security alarm frightened him. Police say Sager was trying to steal money from the church by climbing through a stained glass window. Cops caught up with him at his Medford home with help from the witness.
?My soul's more important than my back pocket,? said parishioner Ray Acevedo. ?I wouldn't do something like that. I don't care how desperate times are.?
