Police say they have a lead in three robberies by a man who entered a Huntington Village office building appearing to be selling candy.
The man was caught on camera stealing cash from a safe at insurance company JW Hirschfield Agency, Inc. last month. JW Hirschfield President Susan Hirschfield Mohr had a surveillance camera installed in the room where the safe is after one of the earlier incidents. Police say the man also stole money from the company on two other occasions over the summer.
Hirschfield Mohr says the man also stole the safe itself and suspects another individual may be involved.
Suffolk Detective Sgt. Bruce Markgraf says even those in private offices should make sure to lock up their belongings.
