Suffolk police arrested a man for driving while ability impaired by drugs following a multivehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the eight-vehicle crash temporarily closed all lanes eastbound in Hauppauge near Exit 55.

All lanes were reopened around 6 p.m.

Police say two people were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
