Alfred Buckman, of Islip Terrace, accused in Bay Shore hit-and-run

Police say they have arrested the man who ran down a Suffolk County teen and left him in a Bay Shore street. 
The incident happened on Fifth Avenue and Howells Road around 6 p.m. yesterday. 
According to police, Alfred Buckman, 51, from Islip Terrace, hit 18-year-old James Vaughan while he was walking and then sped away. 
Vaughan was hospitalized with a serious head injury and several broken bones.
Buckman was found shortly after. He is being held on $25,000 bail.
