Mayor Eric Adams is ready to fire up to 3,000 workers city workers who
missed the deadline to get vaccinated.
The vaccine mandate for municipal workers was put in place by former
Mayor Bill de Blasio, but the Adams administration is following through with
it.
Termination notices are in the mail and take effect today, targeting
city workers who have been on leave without pay for declining to obey the
city's vaccine mandate.
Unions are still trying to block the move.
Meanwhile, the state's highest court dismissed another motion to
overturn the order that has since been partially lifted.
A final ruling on whether the governor had the authority to enact a
mandate in the first place is still pending.
