ALERT CENTER: One in three Americans think COVID-19 pandemic is over, poll finds

Although COVID-19 cases in the U.S. are on the rise, 34% of Americans say the pandemic is over, and 66% do not think the pandemic is over.

A new Gallup poll reveals one in three Americans think the COVID-19 pandemic is over. 
Although COVID-19 cases in the U.S. are on the rise, 34% of Americans say the pandemic is over, and 66% do not think the pandemic is over.
Meanwhile, 40% say the disruption from the pandemic will last through 2022, and 34% believe it will last longer.  
A total of 21% of Americans say their lives are back to normal, 58% say it’s somewhat normal and 21% say not normal at all. 
The findings are from the Apr. 25-May 2 update to Gallup's probability-based COVID-19 racking poll conducted via web panel.
