State police have released age-progression photos of a 72-year-old wanted in a Southampton double murder.
Authorities say William Fischer murdered his 19-year-old son Billy and Billy's friend Nancy Hyer in 1986.
Their bodies were found in the trunk of Hyer's car at the Southampton Elks Club. Billy was shot 18 times. Nancy was stabbed twice.
Police believe Billy had asked his father for money to help with his cystic fibrosis medical bills.
William Fischer's car was found at John F. Kennedy International Airport, but he has never been found. Investigators believe Fischer may have left the country, but there's no record of what flight he could have taken.
Nancy's sister Debra says finding Fischer would mean so much to her and her mother, who passed away two years ago without getting the justice she longed for.
"My mother had nightmares about what happened to her...I would have wanted her to be alive if they caught him," she told News 12 Long Island.
Police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to call state police at 631-756-3300.
