Additional funds heading to Nassau County’s ShotSpotter program amid reported rise in gunfire

More money is being set aside to expand the ShotSpotter in Nassau County following a spike in reported gunfire.
Nassau County legislators say there were 68 incidents of shots fired in 2020.
There have already been 95 reported incidents of gunfire so far in 2021.
ShotSpotter was first introduced 10 years ago, costing the county around $850,000.
