A Middle Island father received a Christmas miracle in the form of a life-saving heart donation.
Brandon Robert, 45, had a rare autoimmune disease that led to heart failure and a new heart was his only option to survive.
Robert's family says the donor had the same blood type and was the same height as him.
"My son is one of those people who gets to be a walking miracle," says Kym Stanfield.
Robert’s wife and mother say that he is grateful to be getting a second chance at life.
