A busy road in Oceanside is open this morning after crews worked quickly to fix a sinkhole on Foxhurst Road.

The road is the third in Nassau County to give out in the past two months.

Officials tell News 12 an underground water main broke, causing the road to buckle. The sinkhole between Locust Avenue and Oceanside Road has now been filled.

As News 12 has reported, the legislature approved $15 million in emergency funding to fix sinkholes in Lido Beach and Baldwin this past week.

Residents that spoke with News 12 are starting to raise concerns about the county's entire underground infrastructure.

"Lido Boulevard got shut down, imagine a road that’s larger than that, it's really difficult for Long Islanders to deal with. A lot of things need to be redone, the infrastructure getting antiquated," said one resident.
