Playing with clay is fun for most kids but, for one 9-year-old Merrick girl clay making became a business.
Juliana Tand started creating clay figurines in 2018. Recently her creation of a Bernie Sanders mittens meme replica grabbed a lot of attention. Tand raffled off the replica and raised $3,000, which she decided to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.
"I'm very proud of myself because I know I can help kids and make them smile," says Tand.
Tand has hopes of creating more clay figurines each month to raise more money.
