Police say the cats were tortured, killed and then left on the front lawn of the family that had cared for them.
A kitten, that was only a few weeks old, was severed in half. The adult cat was bludgeoned to death.
The person responsible for the killings would face felony animal cruelty charges. Anyone with information is urged to call the SPCA at 631-382-7722.
