A 70-year-old man died Friday after falling overboard from his boat in Hempstead Harbor near Sea Cliff Beach, Nassau County police say.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when the man went overboard and was pulled from the water by Bay Constables.
Police say CPR was performed and he was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from drowning due to respiratory distress caused by excess water in the lungs.
His name has not been released by police.
