A 68-year-old woman was arrested Monday after allegedly throwing lit matches at a man during an argument and threatening to set a house on fire.
Police say Rose Yee had a verbal dispute with a 68-year-old man in Valley Stream at about 8:30 p.m.
Investigators say the argument escalated, and Yee became irate, throwing lit matches at the man. She then allegedly threatened to burn the house down and set a piece of clothing on fire outside the residence.
Responding officers located Yee and took her into custody without incident.
She was taken to a hospital for evaluation, although no injuries were reported.
Police said a subsequent investigation revealed that Yee had violated an active order of protection.
She is charged with criminal contempt and menacing.
