Suffolk police have arrested six men they say are responsible for a home invasion spree that targeted six homes in two weeks.
Most of the arrests were made, police say, after they raided a home in Wyandanch. Guns were also seized from the home, according to investigators.
Police arrested and charged Wyandanch teens Tyrone Simpson, Benjamin Gains and Steven Brison, all 18 years old. Andy Sukram, 18, of Bayport, Bryan Bethea Jr., 21, of Central Islip and Jamal Bishop, 19, of Copiague were arrested as well. Police say the six are responsible for holding homeowners at gunpoint and robbing houses in Lindenhurst, Smithtown, Melville, Islip and Deer Park.
The suspects looked for homes with open windows or doors to enter through. Homeowners in the targeted areas say they feel relieved by the arrests.
Suffolk police say the investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected. The suspects will be arraigned Sept. 13.
