Five men, including four Long Islanders, are accused of 45 burglaries that resulted in the theft of $10 million in cash and goods.
Former NYPD Detective Rafael Astacio, of Copaigue, is accused of being part of the crew, allegedly responsible for heists between 2009 and 2012.
Prosecutors say Astacio used an FBI database to help in the burglaries.
The crew allegedly ripped off 35 commercial businesses and 10 homes.
In one of their biggest scores, prosecutors say the crew stole more than $2 million in cash from a Nassau plastic surgeon's office.
Astacio faces up to 17 years in prison. The other men, who are from Copiague, West Babylon, Lindenhurst and Mount Vernon, face 15 years.
