Cocaine, cash and dozens of weapons were seized in a series of Suffolk raids targeting street-level drug dealers.
Suffolk police executed four search warrants this week as part of a new initiative targeting drug dealers. In total, detectives seized more than 200 grams of cocaine and made four arrests. One of the raided homes is just steps away from the Jack Abrams School in Huntington Station.
Police recovered 110 grams of cocaine, a scale, drug packaging material and $3,500 from a Huntington Station home this morning. Police also arrested brothers Israel Perez, 23, and Gilmar Perez, 25. Both are charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in or near a school.
Detectives also seized cocaine, cellphones and cash from three other homes in Bellmore, West Babylon and Huntington Station. Gregory Jackson, 29; Ivan Oscar Martinez, 34; and Benjamin Lugo, 30, were arrested.
Since the initiative started in December, police have arrested 149 people and recovered dozens of weapons and over $1 million in drug money.
"Our message is simple," says Police Commissioner Tim Sini. "If you're dealing drugs in Suffolk County, the Suffolk County Police Department is coming for you."
