More than 45 million people are traveling this holiday weekend, but the nasty weather means many will arrive late for Thanksgiving dinner.

Travelers say it has not been easy catching flights over the past few days. More than 300 were canceled by last night in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia.

The LIRR is on a holiday schedule with off-peak fares in effect through Sunday. There will be 17 extra trains today.

Officials say to expect police patrols on the roads all holiday weekend.
