Police responded to a call about three males with guns in a Great Neck parking lot, but it turned out to be college students filming a class project.
Police say they received the call around 1:30 p.m. Friday. They responded to a parking lot on Maple Drive.
Police say the students had fake machine guns. Their identities weren't released, but police say it was two 21-year-old males and a 19-year-old male.
The students did not notify the village or police of their filming prior to starting, police say. They were issued appearance tickets for filming without a permit.
