3 paddleboarders rescued from Reynolds Channel in Long Beach

Police say three people were rescued from the water in Long Beach on Sunday.

According to police, two children and one adult were paddle boarding when the incident happened.

The three were found around 2:30 p.m., clinging to a buoy in Reynolds Channel.

Newsday says the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department assisted Long Beach Fire Department with a rescue boat.

Officials say the three paddleboarders and two kayakers who tried to help them were transported to a nearby dock.

All of them were evaluated at the scene before heading home.
