Police are searching for the three men behind a violent home invasion in Port Jefferson.
According to police, the men attacked the homeowner on Sheep Pasture Road just before midnight.
Police say the men beat the man and then took money and a pickup truck.
The homeowner was taken to the hospital with injuries and is expected to survive.
Detectives are now saying it appears the home was targeted and that it was not a random act.
Patrols are being stepped up in the area as part of the investigation.
