3 Long Island schools among winners in NASA’s TechRise Challenge

Connetquot High School and Sewanhaka High School were both high-altitude balloon winners. Brentwood High School was a suborbital rocket winner.

NASA has selected 57 winning teams out of more than 600 entries in a nationwide tech contest – and three are from Long Island.
NASA hosted a challenge designed to attract, engage and prepare future STEM professionals. The winning proposals included measuring greenhouse gases, space farm irrigation systems, lunar dust mitigation and more. 
Connetquot High School and Sewanhaka High School were both high-altitude balloon winners. Brentwood High School was a suborbital rocket winner.
They will each receive $1,500 to build their experiments and will begin working on their projects this spring.
